Yes, a referral from your general practitioner is required.  Please upload your referral via the link below or alternatively contact our rooms for more information.

To prepare for your first visit, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork.

The fees charged depend on the individual specialist and the type of consultation.

The facility itself does not set the fees; each independent practitioner does. 

Here is general information about costs and specific examples for one of the specialists practicing there:

General Information on Fees

• Payment is required on the day of the appointment.

• A valid referral is essential to claim a Medicare rebate.

• Medicare Rebates: Medicare typically covers 85% of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) fee for specialist services. 

Patients are responsible for the "gap payment" (the difference between the doctor's fee and the combined Medicare rebate).

• Out-of-Pocket Costs: Specialists charge above the Medicare rebate amount, resulting in an out-of-pocket expense for the patient. 

How to Get Specific Cost Information
To determine the exact charge for your consultation:

1. Contact the reception staff at the Gold Coast Specialist Rooms directly by calling 07 5620 0550.

2. Specify which specialist you are seeing.

3. The reception staff can provide the initial and follow-up appointment costs, as well as the approximate Medicare rebate you can expect to receive.

Gold Coast Specialist Rooms is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM,  Thursday from 12:00PM to 5:00PM with extended hours available for consultations upon request.

Onsite parking for both staff and patients is available underneath the building.

Free parking is available underneath the building. 

Disabled / wheelchair accessible  parking is available on the left of the driveway upon entry.
